Outrigger Reef on the Beach is a Great Place To Vacation With Your Family
What A Great Family Friendly Property! On our first trip to the Hawaiian Islands we chose to stay at the Outrigger Reef on the Beach in Waikiki. Our view was quite spectacular and the service was top notch. We utilized Costco Travel to book our package which turned out to be a great idea. Back to The Outrigger…
It was a very pleasant stay for a variety of reasons. When traveling with our daughter, we look for accommodations that will help us all (including mom), have a pleasant and stress-free time. The Outrigger Reef on the Beach was able to deliver on all aspects of our trip. The rooms were very spacious, up to date, clean and our view of the city and partial ocean view was fantastic. Even the view of the city was beautiful, which usually is not the case. We also got a great view of the fireworks show that the Hilton Hawaiian Village shoots off above Waikiki beach on Friday nights. With the hotel sitting on the beautiful Waikiki beach, we did not use the pool, but the property does have one should you want to lay out poolside or take a dip.

Centrally Located Oceanfront Property With Great Accommodations
The Outrigger Reef on the Beach is very centrally located and walking distance to local shops, dining and even a park. We didn’t rent a car for our vacation and none was needed with all of the places within walking distance. It is also directly on the beach where you are able to rent beach chairs, umbrellas and equipment for a variety of water sports activities. As a family, having an amazing beach just steps away from your hotel is a vacation maker! The property also features several restaurants where you can easily grab breakfast, lunch or dinner for your family and even down a fabulous tropical island drink in the lobby bar. Yum!

The hotel lobby also featured small shops and even has a Starbucks coffee shop! That was a huge perk for me as a coffee drinker. Down the street there is a local Denny’s and other eateries where you can walk to for breakfast. If you are up for a walk before lunch, you can walk over to get some local style favorites at the Rainbow Drive-In which was featured in the TV show Diners Drive-Ins and Dives. It was about a 20 minute walk, but its well worth the walk for a fabulous local spot to dine at.

We Plan to Return to Stay at the Outrigger Reef on the Beach
Our experience at this resort in Waikiki was so fabulous that we do plan on returning. Traveling with family can sometimes be a bit hard to enjoy simply because as parents, we always think of our kids first and want to make their stay pleasant. As a mom, I’d have to say that the Outrigger Reef on the Beach allowed me to enjoy my vacation alongside my family without any problems. We are sure to visit again soon!
