Oceanfront Views and Fresh Seafood
Tucked away in the back of the family friendly Fiesta Americana Grand Coral Beach Resort is the Isla Contoy restaurant. Located just steps away from the white sandy beach, and with a majestic view you just can’t beat, Isla Contoy restaurant is a place worth visiting even if you are not staying at this hotel. You can’t help but love that tropical island dining experience at this restaurant as eating oceanfront just can’t be compared. This heavenly open air ocean view restaurant is housed under a palapa (hut) offering friendly service, cooked to order seafood and an amazing dining experience.
The Seafood Menu or Seafood Bar
Their menu consists of simple fresh seafood with a seafood bar from which you select the item and order it to be cook just like you want it. You can select from shrimp, scallops, several types of fish, calamari, and lobster (for an added cost). On our visit here, all of the seafood was placed on a bed of ice and we literally walk up to that bar and pointed out the seafood we wanted cooked. I ordered the garlic shrimp and my husband got the sea bass. Both dishes were just fabulous. My daughter ordered off of the menu and she selected their fresh Ceviche. She was in heaven. I took a taste of it and it was very good and fresh tasting. I would highly recommend it. Their mixed drinks were very good too, so make sure to order one of those with your meal!
This is a restaurant with all the elegant amenities (including a place to hang your purse) but in a casual setting with a stunningly beautiful view of the ocean and Isla Mujeres across the way. Their attention to detail at Isla Contoy Restaurant is impeccable and well you just can’t beat great food, great service and an ocean view like this. We were provided a complimentary lunch at Isla Contoy while meeting with a PR staff member to talk about the resort. Regardless, we would only recommend places, activities or services that we would use/visit personally and that we believe will be good for our readers.
